it probably deserves higher, and multiple people told me they enjoyed this book a lot, and it was their first glimpse of neil gaiman. as was it for me. i read this book sloooowly, at night before bed. perhaps if i’d read it all at once i would’ve been more into it. i can tell i enjoy gaiman’s writing, and think his story telling and prose is appealing, but this particular story felt.. fine. the world of a london below i loved, and certain characters were very well constructed. it just felt a bit, bland to me at times. certain things happened and i felt nothing in response. again, very likely a me issue. won’t let this affect my thoughts on him or other works of his. glad i read the book but not much more to say on it
