This is an amazing book!
This book centers around Saga, a band of mercenaries. In this world, mercenaries are treated like rock stars. They have "bookers" who find them "gigs". To me, the first half of the book is rather slow-paced. It deals mostly with getting the band back together, and we meet each member, and learn their backstory.
The daughter of one of Saga's members has became a mercenary herself. She's in a city currently under seige, and her father, Golden Gabe, wants the band to reunite for one last gig. Break the seige, and rescue Rose.
The end of this book broke my heart, not quite as bad as Hero of Ages, and nobody died, but still. I'm eagerly looking forward to the next one.
