The Bodyguard by Katherine Center
5.0
This book was so fun!!
I loved the main character Hannah. All to often, characters like her (the not-so-girly type) are done in such a way that they have to be looking down on other women to justify and explain their approach. Katherine Center really knocked it out of the part with Hannah however, making her a real girls' girl. She was supportive and positive toward the women around her while also maintaining her distaste for what she calls "girlfriend clothes" on herself.
The narration is really fun as well. It was done in third person, but from the perspective of Hannah looking back and telling her story later. You see that style in movie narration all the time, but it's rare to read a book written that way, and I enjoyed it a lot.
I thought the romance was very convincing and adorable, and the conflict was believable and interesting as well. I usually find myself at the end of a romance book feeling like the best part is ending too soon, but the way that Katherine Center paced the book was perfect and gave me that extra bit I'm always wanting.
All around it was a very enjoyable read!
