The Catcher in the Rye
by J.D. Salinger
This book got me so bonkin emotional for no reason. Holden is so cynical and full of angst, he's an absurdly endearing narrator, and when you finally discover something he really loves and cares about--Phoebe--it's almost enough to make me lose it. It really is.
Actually, when you find out what a catcher in the rye is—that’s what made me actually shed tears.
Now I need to figure out a way to incorporate "helluva phony" into my everyday vocabulary.
