Storm of Secrets and Sorrow by Melissa K. Roehrich

And this is how Melissa became an auto-buy author. I’m gonna need to read her entire catalog now. 😌

I LOVED that there’s a recap at the beginning of book 2, read by Cyrus, who I assume is from the Lady of Darkness series? That was a pretty cool touch!

This book made me feel everything: pure hatred, sadness, compassion, RAGE. And I am NOT okay. The ending completely threw me off. I DID NOT SEE IT COMING AT ALL. Thank god I already had book 3 ready because there was no way I could wait. I needed to keep going.

It’s still a character-driven story, but we got more and more lore this time, plus some new and really interesting characters.

I feel for my girl Tessa. She’s being manipulated left and right while still grieving and trying to process everything she’s learning about herself. The way she handles it all makes her feel so real.

I still hate some characters with a passion. But my boys Luka and Axel? They can do no wrong.
Give me all the broody dragon shifter vibes and the guardian protectiveness. Luka is definitely my new book boyfriend 😏.
And Axel? He is sweet, kind and funny shadow daddy. I knew I was going to love him from the moment I met him in book one. I’m so glad we finally got his POV!

Also… I’m really unsure whether the villains are truly the bad ones. Don’t get me wrong, they’re evil, but are they actually the bad guys?
