Veiled Eyes
by C.L. Bevill
I got this as a free ebook download on Barnes & Noble. You never really know what you'll get with a free book, so I was pleasantly surprised at how good this one was.
The story is about Anna and Gabriel and the town and residents of Unknown, Louisiana. The natives have a special gift that they keep secret from the rest of the world. Anna was given up near birth to protect her from her own people and she has somehow found her way home, like all the natives do who venture away.
The story itself is intriguing and very well written. The heat between Anna and Gabriel is undeniable and jumps off the screen, but Bevill does a great job of making sure it doesn't override the other characters and their contribution to the story.
