I’d read this a couple years ago and all I remember was it being very good. I was not mistaken as I reread it.

I definitely did not appreciate this story back then as I do now. This book was so heartbreaking and upsetting in the best way possible. The ending took me by surprise, and it was even worse when I realized
Joseph wouldn’t have died if he had not voluntarily left to protect Jack
. I would definitely recommend this book, especially if one was looking for a quicker read.
