King of Fools by Amanda Foody

4.0

I enjoyed this so much more than the first one, I'm pretty much always a second book gal when there is a trilogy so this is fairly unsurprising!

The secondary characters really made it so much more interesting and engaging and the world building and plot were much more interesting. Yes the faux swear words were still annoying (what is muck meant to mean??? I assumed it was a substitute for fuck and shats was shit but they use muck in contexts where fuck would be grammatically wrong??? Make your mind up please, I could have got on board with it if it had a consistent application) Enne became FAR more palatable in this book, was her 'I'm a gang leader now ooh I'm so badass' mentality annoying at time? Absolutely. But her growth was great and while I wasn't super obsessed with the Levi/Enne will they wont they thing being carried on through this book too, I grew to like both characters a bit more so it was far more tolerable. A respectable 3.5 stars, rounded up.
