The Girl with Stars in Her Eyes by Xio Axelrod

4.0

Ever since this book first popped up on my timeline as upcoming new release in 2021, I wanted to read this. I have no idea why it took me 2 years to go for it. Xio Axelrod is another author that has been sitting on my tbr list patiently and as she'll attend RARE24Paris, I took this as clue to finally go for this book.

Oh, this one was different from what I've read this year. I think it was very well written and even though it's in dual 3rd POV, I found myself quickly attached to Seb and Toni. Their story is a total slow burn and regardless that I found the story sometimes dragging, I simply couldn't put it down. I found myself intrigued by all characters and really wanted to follow Toni on her journey.

How I see it, the whole story revolves around Toni and I wish we would have gotten a little more of Seb's story. I think we just scratched the surface here of what he has to tell. I also have some questions about things I feel that haven't been answered.

I'm looking forward to read Kyla's story soon! And I promise, I won't wait 2 years after it's released ;-)
