This book fucking sucks.
I’ve read two by the author now and can safely say she is terrible, has horrible morals, and also fucking sucks.
Every character but the male love interest is an asshole. The author frames him as an asshole though which makes no sense. Female lead says “fuck you” to him at one point and he responds by asking her to leave, and yet he’s the bad guy? The situational context makes this even more baffling, but I won’t say more in case anyone wants to make the mistake of reading this trash novel after seeing this review.
The HEA ending is completely unearned. Logic is nonexistent throughout the novel. Not one human relationship of any kind in the book makes sense except for a couple friendships with bit players.
Avoid this at all costs.
It would have gotten zero stars but it’s Christmas and the author did one thing that was not terrible. She avoided the trope of “this problem could be solved if people were honest/actually communicated” better than most authors in this genre. That trope absolutely still happens, but she sucked less than average with it so she gets a half star.
