I'm Glad My Mom Died
by Jennette McCurdy
challenging
dark
sad
medium-paced
this was not an easy book to read. how it was marketed is very misleading. there's not much, if any, humor in this book. its dark, graphic, and honestly ended up triggering my own ED. there were so much details and descriptions about the abuse she endured and then almost nothing for the actual recovery aspect of it. the ending felt rushed and unfinished. i wished the recovery part of her journey was written more, i wanted to read about her healing despite what she faced, wanted to see more of her therapy sessions.
Graphic: Child abuse, Eating disorder, Sexual violence
