I loved how this book was about the UP of Michigan! I really enjoyed the descriptions of the wilderness and it reminded me of the times I spent there. In general the plot was gripping, very disturbing but fast paced. My main issue with the book was that Helena was a bit hard to connect with, especially in her interactions with her mom and husband. I also think “narcissist” was not the best description for her father, who was really a psychopath. Overall was a captivating but chilling read.
