If you’re expecting a gritty true crime book with lots of pictures of dead bodies, you should probably just get the f*** out right now. But if you’re already a murderino, or if you’re interested in hearing real talk from real people about anxiety, stress, and mental health; how the past forms us; and how we can blaze our own trail to who we want to be and where we want to go (with bits of crime here and there for teachable moments) this is the guide for you.
I listened to the audiobook of this, and while the physical copy does have some heartwarming photos, nothing beats hearing Karen and Georgia (and Paul Giamatti) talk. Having been a listener of the podcast since the very beginning, I have loved seeing every step of the journey and their voices and conversation is like sinking into a warm bubble bath at the end of a difficult day.
It is witty, humorous, relatable, and everything you’d imagine a book born of My Favorite Murder to be. But most importantly, it gives some actual advice—I felt some real wake-up moments while listening, a few things I even had to rewind back to hear again.
