Bridget Jones’s Baby: The Diaries by Helen Fielding

4.0

So, it seems the book is markedly different to the movie, at least going by the clips I've seen. I wanted to read and direct the book in my mind before seeing the movie as I usually do with adaptations. McDreamy clearly isn't Daniel Cleaver so I think the movie will be very different which means reading the book will give a completely different dimension to Bridget's Diaries.

Still, it was an amusing read even if at times so over-the-top caricature, but then many of Bridget's antics are exaggerated so I expected that. Even so, the ending was delightful in both expected and unexpected ways.

Fun read. I haven't read Mad About the Boy and I'm not sure I want to now. Because, well, Mark Darcy... I sob over fictional characters. I think I'll let Bridget's diaries rest as they are.

Just an after thought on Colin Firth's recent interviews for the movie... and his reaction to being a heartthrob had me rocking but more so his reaction to doing action scenes. He's really up for geriaction movies in future. Laugh... I nearly peed!
