You know when you read a book and you love it so much you want to immediately buy it so you can keep it close by forever? This book, and the first book, are two of those books for me. The War I Finally Won is powerful, real, and complex with rich emotional storytelling about the life of a young girl living in England during World War II. Each chapter seamlessly moves through the story with no break in momentum. I was wrapped up in Ada's story and did not want it to be over. Pick up this read, and The War That Saved My Life (to be read first), and savor every minute. Don't be fooled by the middle grade level - it is a story is for all readers.
