While I did like it, I probably would have loved it a whole lot more if I had read it prior to Elsie Silver’s Chestnut Springs series. I do love seeing Elsie’s growth as a writer, but because this was one of her first books, it fell a little flat after reading others she’s written. I am glad to have some of Violet’s story, as well as Cole’s, because they were such a mystery. But, I missed the dynamic of the whole Eaton family together! I’m ready for a book that combines both!
