A classic about motherhood, survival, and a brave hen.
Sprout is so brave and almost naively-brave, but her growth is so massive that it's no shocker that she is able to survive.
This is a quick read, but each part has such a profound impact that this feels longer emotionally. I can see why it's such a beloved book and I wish I had read it as a kid!
