Duma Key by Stephen King
4.0

Florida makes a change from the Maine setting of many Stephen King novels. A wealthy Minnesota builder has a terrible accident on a construction site from which even the bulk of his Dodge Ram is unable to save his right arm. To convalesce he rents a house on a strangely undeveloped section of the Florida coast. As he heals he begins to paint compulsively, the paintings have a supernatural quality to them connected to his strange elderly neighbour.

As with the best Stephen King novels this is a real page turner with plenty of hooks and a compulsive storyline. This is an example of the master story teller in his element.
