Freedom Is a Constant Struggle: Ferguson, Palestine, and the Foundations of a Movement by Angela Y. Davis

5.0

Freedom is a Constant Struggle is a collection of interviews and speeches from Angela Davis. It was published almost a decade ago but the topics are still so relevant. In her essays Angela illuminates the connection between the Black Liberation Movement and the Palestinian Liberation Movement.

I recommend reading it over time rather than all at once. Since it is a collection of collection interviews and speeches the content can become repetitive near the end. It is also an introductory read. The essays/speeches are concise and well thought out however some lack context ( which is not the Davis's fault).

Some keep takeaways for me is the importance of collective action, and the links between oppression movements world wide. I highly recommend picking it up.
