Cursed by Bandits by Stephanie K. Clemens is a refreshing, gender-bending take on the classic Robin Hood tale, with a dash of Merida from Brave. The fast-paced narrative follows engaging, lovable characters through a life-changing adventure.

Rowan, our inspirational female protagonist, is a standout. Unlike many heroines, her strength and abilities are not solely tied to her birth or lineage. Instead, she earns her place through hard work and determination. The juxtaposition of her personal journey with autonomy and the larger struggle for morality in a medieval setting creates a powerful and thought-provoking story.

If you're looking for a quick, enjoyable fantasy read that's both entertaining and empowering, Cursed by Bandits is a fantastic choice. Although this is book 4, the Once Upon a Curse collection offers a great selection of standalone stories. I appreciate the opportunity to have read this book in advance of publication.
