The Good House by Ann Leary
4.0

This was surprisingly humorous and engaging for a book that puts the reader in the shoes of an alcoholic living in denial. At first, you can clearly see her thinking errors, but they become more complicated as events unfold. Really well done. I especially loved that it's set on the north shore of Boston because I used to live there and know all the area well. I just wish she'd picked a real town name instead of making one up (is Wendover a combination of Wenham and Andover? She says it's based on Marblehead.) This is one that should be read on audio- Mary Beth Hurt really brings the character Hildy to life.
