This book was so melancholy and  slow. I felt like similar points have been made more effectively in other stories. I usually love books surrounding chosen family and tenants rights, but the plot structure and insufferable protagonist had me just waiting for the book to end. The ending was unsatisfying and left without closure or significant growth.
