Mortal Follies by Alexis Hall
Did not finish book. Stopped at 11%.
I really wanted to like this book. The initial concept on its own showed a lot of promise. The prologue had set up our narrator as being Puck (possibly) of a Midsummer Night's Dream fame now as a contemporary writer. Again in theory should have been fun. The cracks began to show in chapter one and would only splinter more and more with each page. The writing felt juvenile and rushed. The initial trip keep talking about chapter one's incident as if it were a full fledged curse but it didn't feel as though that were the case. Overall this felt like it lacked focus and breathing room for the concepts at hand.
