Me (Moth) by Amber McBride

4.0

This book was going to be 3 stars until the ending. I can’t say I understood everything that happened in this book because it’s an unfamiliar culture to me and it was very deep, but it was poetic and philosophical and beautiful. The ending made me retreat into myself and think long and hard about my life choices. The ending was sad but I think necessary. I was not ready to have this many emotions over this book.

I loved the way they handled Sani’s depression and Moth’s “survivor’s” guilt. McBride handled real world harsh topics in a very accurate delicate way.
