The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley
Did not finish book. Stopped at 9%.
The writing style is just not for me. The author uses lots of short choppy sentences and fragments. I thought at the beginning it was for effect, but if so it is overdone. Every single paragraph ends with some kind of ominous sentence.
I tried the audiobook to see if that would help. It helped with the structure, but some of the accents were so think they were difficult to understand at anything more than regular speed. I like listening at 1.5 speed minimum.
I know it is only 30 pages in, but I also haven’t gotten attached or even remotely like any of the characters. With the audiobook, the only way I could tell the characters apart was their accents.
