Zom-B Family by Darren Shan

This book was extremely heartbreaking and I never thought Darren Shan could be capable of this much hurt. This book is about Rage turning on the angels and bringing along B with him. They end up at the place with Dan-Dan, Owl Man, the KKK clan, and even B's father (surprise). This book was a little dragged out around the beginning where B was trying to figure out what she was going to do and then once the middle came along your spirits were about as high as B's (which were extremely low). B finds out that

her mother is still alive, but as a zombie now. Her dad has keep her locked up and keeps her fed and healthy as a zombie can be

B is given the chance to help them find more cures and be a study subject, but declines and is left to Dan-Dan's torture. This was a cruel scene where he tears down B's spirit and hope/want to live. The ending is even more cruel when

B's dad is finally listening to B, but his time to go has come. He pulls a grenade out and lays next to his wife and dies. This makes B the last of her family tree

I really liked Darren's writing in this book, but it was extremely sad compared to all the others I've read.
