After about three chapters of ... I couldn't stand this and went on to a "cowboy" book (one by B. M. Bower).

After finishing up the "cowboy" book, I thought to give this another try and read a couple more chapters. Bah! I need something that makes some vague sense and something that had a competent editor who would flag things like sudden changes in "voice" without any attribution.

So, what we have is two drama queens (sisters), a prescient dog who takes over the narration from time to time, a severely autistic child, some kind of criminal enterprise preying on parents of children with autism. Probably some other stuff. I didn't bother finishing: it was so awful (I did make it through a third of the book). It wasn't at all clear to me that the author had any sympathy for autistic people. She just treated them as severely deficient people. Perhaps that attitude changes later on. I had no interest in finding out. What a load of crap!
