I started this book because my best friend loves it so much and that always stresses me out because I'm scared that popular books are not going to live up to the hype. But this was definitely did! I was not expecting it to be so intense in the sense that the FMC literally gets mentally tortured by the four MMC because they think she was the reason they all went to prison. And I just didn't see how it was going to work out in the end, because like hello? they burned her house down and tortured her lol
but this a dark romance series so of course they sorted it all out. I have such a soft spot for Rika and Michael. Maybe because they were the couple that started this series for me, or maybe because of the way Michael was pining after Rita since they were children growing up together. And obviously once he found out that it wasn't her fault, the way he sticks up for her and protects her is *chefs kiss*
I know this isn't a lot of people's favorite of the series but I thought it was a perfect start to the series and perfect way to introduce everyone. I just love them so much so it'll always be a second favorite for me!
if you like dark romance with suspense and some great spice, this is such a great book and series to dive into! It holds such a sense of nostalgia to me for some reason, like it just is a comforting read to me and I think it'd be a favorite for lots!
