Crave by J.R. Ward

3.75

Oh Isaac Rothe.... I actually thought at first I was so not going to be into the second installment of JR Ward's Fallen Angel series, "Crave"....oh, I was so wrong on that. And Crave I did, to keep turning these pages and let the story of Isaac; military, XOps Intel, military, hard ass, stubborn and full of pride, and Grier. Attorney, upstanding citizen, fighter and savior to lost souls. Jim Heron; Angel. The man of cross-roads. Mathias, the fucker and Devina....oh Devina. You dirty little bi- okay. I guess I should try and keep this one 'clean'.

I actually think I like this one better than Covet. The mix of action packed military, guns a blazing, stealth maneuvering and supernatural Angels and Demons was right up my alley. Not to mention, the ehem... *HOT* scenes and story of Isaac and Grier. In my head, Isaac Roth is Jensen Ackles (Dean from "Super Natural"). Yeah... stew on that for a bit. And for what ever reason, "Locked Out of Heaven" by Bruno Mars was the theme song for me during parts of this book. More on that some other time, some other blog.

It was a little apropo for me to finish this book tonight on the eve of a new year. Why? I had taken a slight reading hiatus this fall and reading "Crave" got me right back into doing what I love. Slightly neglecting my kids, forgetting something burning on the stove while I anxously, frantically, biting my nails, at times squeeling, turning pages as fast as I can, falling helplessly, endlessly in love with whatever book I am reading. Before you judge, my kids are fine, the dinners always saved and thankfully a husband near by to remind me ever so gently, "Hey book nerd, something is burning on the stove...". So thank you JR Ward and all the other authors I so unconditionally love, for reminding me that nerdy book love, is the best love.
