Slow Days, Fast Company. The World, the Flesh, and L.A. by Eve Babitz

funny lighthearted reflective slow-paced

3.0

Eve Babitz frequently calls herself a bitch. I love that she recognizes this, her meanness, and her tendency for snobbery. While I love to love her, I hate to hate her. She is a cool girl and I want to be that. Its hard to continue reading this sort of voice and try to sympathize with their (“fiction” wink wink) life and essays. Don’t get me wrong though! Maybe I didn’t get it. There are some fantastic golden nuggets of poetry and reflection on life and love, and I did underline and note the shit out of those! She did make me vaguely want to take Quaaludes and drink champagne with every meal!
