The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath

5.0

My new favorite book, it is everything I ever wanted from a book and from characters. Esther Greenwood is everything that Holden Caulfield isn’t, but that I had wanted him to be. I’m still thinking about it, and I know I’ll constantly be rereading it. Definitely TW for suicide, self harming, and negative thinking, don’t read this while in a bad place. But it is lyrical and relatable and sad. I love it. I definitely need to read more from Plath, her poetry and unabridged journals, I would read her grocery list if I could.
