Sometimes Daddies Are... by Guido Genechten

2.0

I received an advance copy of this book through Netgalley in an exchange for an honest review.

I would not purchase it for my child because it reinforces stereotypes about men and dads being incompetent idiots when it comes to parenting, rather than just as capable as being a parent as mom. One part that really stood out was the dad being messy—leaving his clothes around the house like a child—with the mom standing in the background with her arms crossed. But it’s okay, because “daddies just do that”. Not the message I want to send to my sons or daughters—especially not in the year 2020.
