The Lions of Fifth Avenue by Fiona Davis

I really liked this one. The mystery was good, but I felt like the end was botched. It wasn’t explained well enough and there’s no way a search in 1914 wouldn’t have included the dumb waiter. Or that the repeated burglaries wouldn’t have damaged the cage and/or floor. The fact that there was no second copy of Jack’s manuscript seemed like a stretch too - he submitted the original? C’mon. Don’t even get me started on Wakeman and the fact that there was no ability to appeal, especially after he published her thesis (which was pretty obviously going to be the outcome from the first time it was mentioned).
