Delightful little book, great start to a series. The original elements from this writer in this trope-heavy genre are well throught out and work splendidly. Feeling a binge listening coming up, finished this book in about a day. Only slight concern is that demon familiar/companion/nemesis/sidekick - I udnerstand he's there to provide exposition but the character might be getting annoying and detrimental to the reading pleasure real soon.
