Ithaca Forever: Penelope Speaks by Luigi Malerba

4.0

Whereas Circe and Song of Achilles (along with a slew of genre similars like Daughters of Sparta or A Thousand Ships) are aimed very much at a broad audience, Ithaca Forever feels tailored toward people who have a close familiarity with the Odyssey already. The writing style (translated to English) is a bit more formal and the approach far more academic than the other modern tellings of Greek classics.

Overall, a good book but not a light read despite its short length.
