The Silver Eyes (Graphic Novel) by Kira Breed-Wrisley, Scott Cawthon

3.0

“I LOVE YOU, CHARLIE.
AND EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OKAY.”

“AND THEN SHE TOLD ME THAT MY FATHER DIED. AND ASKED ME IF I KNEW WHAT THAT MEANT. I DID.”

While I initially did not like the novel version of The Silver Eyes, I think it’s simple story is much better suited for the graphic novel format. There was so much detail and mundane interactions in the book that it got tedious and boring to read through, but the graphic novel does a great job of condensing everything down, mostly by cutting needless dialogue. I still love the interactions of our key members, mostly that of Charlie and John, but the supporting cast is fun, too. The twist is still dumb to me, with Afton being the security guard but not really posing a threat here. This is a mass murderer and none of our cast got hurt in any way? It’s a fun story, but the next two books well make up for the shortcomings of this book.
