“I cannot let the broken girl inside of me inhale all that I've become. I cannot revert back to another version of myself. I will not shatter, not again, in the wake of an emotional earthquake.”

Juliette Ferrars thought she'd won. She took over Sector 45, was named the new Supreme Commander, and now has Warner by her side. But she's still the girl with the ability to kill with a single touch—and now she's got the whole world in the palm of her hand. When tragedy hits, who will she become? Will she be able to control the power she wields and use it for good?

Tahereh Mafi did it once again. The writing style was engaging as always but what really took the forefront in this book was the characters' - Juliette's and Aaron's - inner turmoil. Since this is the first book in the latter half of the book, it sets up the world from the new political view and the potential plot points that are yet to come.  Which in return made me so anxious while reading like the anxiety was real but that only shows how well Mafi does the job of getting the reader hooked on the story. I loved Kenji (and have loved him ever since we met him). Seeing his and Aaron's friendship developing was truly an iconic moment and I'm living for them. I loved meeting Nazeera, I think she will most definitely grow to become one of my ultimate favourite characters.
THE ANXIETYYYY, what do you MEAN JULIETTE AND AARON BREAK UP, WHAT THE FUCK, the cliffhanger?? Aaagghh
