I have reread this book many times and genuinely enjoy it every time I read it. It starts off with such an intense and, sadly, relatable moment that, when I first read it, I had to put the book down because I wasn’t expecting that part of the story.
One of things I love the most about this book is how the author handles the topic of assault, rape, and the reactions/trauma that happen in those situations. Like when you feel like you can’t report and you’re in shock cuz it didn’t get so far, or the trauma of finally telling the story, or not knowing what to tell your friends, or the fact the colleges and fraternities tend to suck ass at handling them. It just all felt VERY realistic and raw.
I absolutely adore the side characters. Erin?? I WISH I had friends like that when I went through my assault. She was nothing but loving and supportive in the most nonjudgemental way. It was such a refresher.
Benji is an ICON and all of his small side comments are just great.
Dr. Heller reminds me of all of my favorite teachers mixed into one. Just seemed very genuine and caring.
and I loved his relationship with Lucas

Francis is the best.
And Landon Lucas Maxfield?? He needs to be protected at all costs. His backstory always makes my fucking heart break and he is just so gentle and sweet with Jacqueline. They really do seem to go so well together.
I personally highly recommend this books. I think it’s absolutely amazing.
