The League of Night and Fog by David Morrell

4.0

3.5 Satisfying conclusion to the Mortalis trilogy combines the heroes from the first two books for a globe-spanning spy adventure. A bit talky overall and probably has the least amount of action, but the story is good and the characters are solid and well-represented. Combines Nazi war criminals, secret underground orders of priest assassins, and ex-Mossad superspies. A proper dad thriller with smart spycraft and meaty shoot-outs. But I found the bulk of the third act to be on the tedious side as a lot of time is spent with the characters learning what information they do and do not know. Better than the second book, at least not overly prone to Christian sentimentalizing, but not as good as the first.
