3.0

More focussed than the first with a tighter grasp on characters.

I enjoyed Alanna and Thomas, they are the first adult characters in the series to have been given a real sense of autonomy and they help make the urgency a little more real.

The overarching theme of this book is independent choice v pre - determined fate which is interesting.

Tavia's constant mind changing between her two man-candies is at times a little irritating and really weakens her as a respectable character. As the book progresses, she does mature and moves from constant boy crushing to seizing control of her power and making things work for her. I enjoyed this. A solid and grown up development from book 1.

Will look forward to seeing how it ends.
