Forgivable Sins by Adelaide Forrest

I wanted to like this so badly, but everything was off. The dynamic between Samara and Lino made absolutely no sense. One minute, she’s saying how he’d never look at her romantically or sexually EVER and the next she’s literally talking about wearing certain clothes because she knows they’re seductive to him. She must be playing dumb the entire book because the number of people who told her that he was madly and desperately in love with her was absurd for how much she did not listen.

That random mental breakdown she had at ~70% because one random cranky lady told her that the man who swore he would never have eyes for another woman (like 15 times before this) would get bored of her and cheat? They’ve been best friends for like 20 years, he’ll get bored? Literally the author just wanted extreme drama and it made 0 sense.

Also, the plot twist of who was plotting against them? All they had to do was use their brain cells and think of the two people in their universe that have an issue with them. Cmon.

And it was SO LONG for no reason. I skimmed for the last 20% before the “climax” because it was so unnecessary.
