The Chemist

DNF AT 50% AND EVEN READING THAT FAR WAS GENEROUS.
I don't know what the fuck happened, but this was BORING. I don't remember the last time I was so goddamned bored reading a book, but here I am.
I wanted to give up at 10% but I talked myself out of it, hoping maybe it would get better. It didn't.
Twilight had it's issues, but what it did have going for it was that it sucked you in and was compulsively readable and well-paced and well-written for the most part. This had none of that. It's choppy And painful to read and she couldn't decide, I think, whether to make it a serious spy novel or slightly comedic, because it would swing back and forth.
It's a mess of info-dumping and trying to hard. I give her points for trying something new, but it's a flop.
