The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri

It is always difficult to read a book after the movie - however this book did not make me dislike the movie. For the most part I found that the choices in the movie helped to develop the themes of the book, of course the romances were changed a bit for the movie as they often are - loosing some nuances and gaining others. I did love this story about finding oneself and of the complexities of culture and self, family and individual and of relationships.
I loved the details in the writing that allowed a connection to the characters more than the narrative. I found the ending fell a little short as if it either couldn't decide to end or should have gone on a bit further.
