The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

5.0

This is a great introduction to the series. I immediately wanted more. The way magic is written about and the mind's perception of it is really unique for a fantasy book, though this modern/urban fantasy. Still, the characters all have their own lives and personalities and it's a great introduction to them. It's hard to remember what was in this book versus the entire series but the twist for this book wasn't very surprising. Maybe I had read a spoiler before or I guessed it, but even then it didn't take away from just how well the book is written.

I've read books where the writing is amazing but the plot is bad but this has everything: plot, writing, characters and theme. It's a very magical beginning.
