Petrified Women by Jeremy Ray

5.0

First off, a huge thank you to the author for allowing me the honor of reading his book and gifting me a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Petrified Women is a novella, so it's pretty short but man does it pack a punch. From how past trauma can affect a person to learning to overcome one's fears and acknowledge abusive behaviors, this is a hard hitter.

Please be aware that parts of this story may be quite triggering for those who have been through such traumas as sexual assault or abuse. Also this story contains forms if gaslighting.

I loved the way Jeremy approached certian situations with care, but also showing the harsh reality of how things can impact your emotional and physical well-being in times of crisis. He takes you right into the trauma and mentality with his descriptions. I felt in my heart the pain and fear the main character Harley was going through.

The imagination Jeremy puts into his characterizations is amazing as well. You get a deep understanding of each character in such a short amount of time. I kind of expected certain things from some of them, but I was not at all disappointed with the execution. I also liked the thought that was put into the pranks that were being played.

This was my first book from Jeremy and it won't be my last! I've already ordered a couple others and can't wait to see how they are in comparison.
