The Cthulhu Mythos by August Derleth

4.0

There are some well-known problems with the Cthulhu Mythos writings of August Derleth.
He tries to impose a system of good and evil, and of earth, air, fire and water elemental deities that are alien to Lovecraft's vision of a chaotic universe where man is insignificant and his values are meaningless.
Having said all that, Derleth does write a pretty decent Lovecraft pastiche. I wound up enjoying these stories more than I expected to.
