The Good Girl's Guide to Rakes by Eva Leigh

5.0

Two leads who have much more to themselves than they show the world, dirty talk, hot intimate scenes, secret identities--oh my.

I loved both Celeste's kindness and her ruthless skill at the social game; I loved Kieran's constant awareness of how his actions were impacting her and his friends, and how he worked within that. The burden of expectations--crushing in her case, harmfully absent in his--was equally devastating to both of them and I liked the way they navigated that and supported each other. I also adored Rosalind as a friend and the little nods to queerness and people of color simply being there in a way many historical romance authors don't address. (I want Rosalind's book.)
