Love Anthony by Lisa Genova
4.0
Once again, a wonderful novel by Lisa Genova. Still Alice is my favourite book by far, so I was really looking forward to Love Anthony and wasn't disappointed. The author has a gift of creating memorable, likeable, relatable characters with stories that you just dive into.
Although one of the characters in the book has autism, this book isn't just about autism. It's more about love and loss, moving on and forgiveness. As much as there are tangible losses in the book (loss of a son, loss of a marriage), it also about the less tangible - like the loss of self, the loss of trust. The story was touching and eye-opening and brought me through a range of emotions - exactly what a great book should do!
I felt the 'other-worldly' aspect of the story was a bit different from the author's previous works, but I don't think it took away from this wonderful story.
Definitely a must-read!
