I love the retelling genre, which is how overtime I keep getting drawn to Maguire. I think it is about time to finally give up on reading him because i just don't enjoy his writing style; The characters seem unreliable and lack depth and the story jut seems to go on and on. In this story I appreciated the literary references and comparisons, especially when referring to children books' characters but unfortunately those references are few. Try this, I hope you enjoy it more than I did.
