A Boy and His Dog at the End of the World by C.A. Fletcher

4.0

Post-apocalyptic world where we follow the character, that only lived on a small island and met under a minimal number of people, exploring out of their comfort zone and realise how large and unpredictable the world actually is.
With relatable characters and feelings/challenges that really makes us appreciate more on how important the "small things are" and focusing on family and dogs.
The story always keeps the reader tense about was is coming, a contrast to the peacefulness of an empty world. Felt that this allowed to keep the reader on their toes with the promise of what was to come, at some points seemed to be a bit of a let down, though overall quite satisfying.
An unexpected journey that shows when there is less to own, the humans value more and become as loyal to their dogs.
